Want to eat healthier and feel better? eat more raw vegetables! One easy way to start doing that is to make sure to add a fresh salad to your meal, with this apple cider vinegar and maple syrup salad dressing. Using that store-bought, sugar-filled, fat-filled, additives and preservative-ladden salad dressing is just not the right way to eat healthy!
One simple and easy way to help is to make your own delicious salad dressing. Somehow, a lot of people are scared by the idea! I used to as well, but since I started making my own, over 13-14 years ago, I have never bought another commercial salad dressing again!
Do not despair! it’s so easy, you’ll wonder why you’ve ever bought any. I go through phases and I change my recipes a lot, but here’s one that I always go back to…
(measurements are approximate, taste and adjust according to what you prefer)
Enjoy!

Apple Cider Vinegar and Maple Syrup Salad Dressing
- 2-3 Tbsp medium-grade (“B”) organic maple syrup
- 1 generous pinch of fine grey sea salt
- pepper to taste (optional)
- 1/3 cup raw organic apple cider vinegar
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 – 3/4 cup good quality extra-virgin olive oil
Put the maple syrup and vinegar in a mason jar. Shake well. Add the rest of the ingredients and shake very well again.
That’s it! A few minutes of work that will give you a Mason jar full of healthy salad dressing that you can use during the week, when dinner-time is always rushed. If you have a big family or eat a lot of salad, you can easily double or triple this recipe. You can adjust the quantity depending on how you like your dressing, more vinegar or more oil, or even more maple syrup (but not too much!).
