I love real food and nutrition, but I generally don’t like to use the term “superfood”, because I feel that all real foods are “superfoods” in their own way, but I couldn’t think of a better description for this recipe than healthy superfood green smoothie! It is packed with nutrition, all real food, and no protein powder mix (most of those mixes contain very strange ingredients and I prefer to stay away from that – Real, whole food is much better for us)!
Greens are essential for us to be healthy, they contain chlorophyll which has properties that helps to cleanse our blood. It is often referred to as the “blood” of plants, their very own life source. So, I’ve added green foods to this smoothie, as well as sea greens, for an extra punch of minerals and nutrition that we so badly need in our modern society!
So far, I’ve made a healthy chocolate smoothie, a delicious post-workout blueberry smoothie, and even a super nutritious beet smoothie, so it was time to have a proper green smoothie!
Of course, remember that you can still make this delicious smoothie even if you don’t have all of the ingredients, just make sure you have most of them 🙂
This is a great smoothie for breakfast or post-workout!
Enjoy!
